Guzelyurt Destination

Guzelyurt is a quaint little town on the Western side of North Cyprus. Its main attractions are the incredibly preserved church of St Mamas, the Natural history and Archaeological museums and all the fresh fruit and vegetables that grow throughout the area. Grapefruit and melons are especially popular, and there’s even an annual orange festival! The citrus groves that are scattered about the scenery give a refreshing ambience to the town, which has a population of just 12000 people.

The town is most prominently a market town, thriving due to its popularity with agricultural produce. You can spend a day here trying delicious foods and mingling with the local life, taking in the ‘beautiful country’, as Guzelyurts name translates. The nearest beach is Guzelyali beach, and the historical sights of Soli and Vouni Palace are must sees. If looking for a break after exploring then there are some lovely restaurants offering local cuisine around.

The restaurants for example makes a delicious and convenient place to stop, right by St Mamas Church it serves a variety of refreshments and foods to keep you energized. Guzelyurt, like many places in North Cyprus holds on to a calm and friendly atmosphere, reminiscent of traditional life in the towns. It is the ideal place to go for those that want a relaxing getaway (and also for those that love fresh fruit!).
