Sarigerme Destination

Located just 12 km from Dalaman airport, Sarıgerme is a heaven on earth. This interesting small town has big plans and boasts one of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey. Sarıgerme beach, which extends for almost four miles, has been designated as a National Park conservation area and has fantastic views and a lovely sea breeze most of the summer. The town has small shops, restaurants and bars. It is set just 800m from the beach with a shuttle 'train' providing regular transport between the two. With it’s sunbeds, variety of watersports and a shady wooded picnic area with cafe on the fringe of the beach, it is an ideal place to while away the hours for those holidaying or living in the area. The name ‘Sarıgerme’ comes from the Sarıçay stream that divides Sarıgerme town and the coast and was once used as the transportation route for timber being brought from the forest down to the sea. The island of Baba Adası, situated just off the coast, shelters the bay and is also a point where boats and yachts sailing between Marmaris and Göcek moor regularly. The outward facing side of the island is rocky and is a popular place for diving into the cool blue waters. If you are a confident swimmer it is possible to swim over to the island and climb to the peak for a bird’s eye view of the beautiful scenery. Turkey is rapidly gaining a reputation as a location for golfing holidays and there is a new golf course and hotel development underway in Sarıgerme.
